Q.01What is a Forward Deployed Engineer?
An engineer who works inside your environment rather than alongside it. They understand the problem, build the solution, and stay accountable once it is live. A consultant gives you a recommendation; an FDE gives you a working system.
Q.02When should we use an FDE versus an engineering mission?
An FDE is one engineer embedded where the work needs a decision-maker in the room, not extra hands on a defined task. A mission is a small senior team pointed at one outcome: a rescue, a migration, a reliability problem. Most engagements start without knowing which one it is.
Q.03Can Senatio own an entire software build?
Yes. Seven phases, one accountable party: discovery, architecture, engineering, integration, production, stabilization, handover. Some companies need engineering capacity. Others simply need the system to exist.
Q.04Can Senatio work inside our repositories and infrastructure?
Yes. Senatio engineers work in your repositories, your Slack or Teams, your Jira or Linear and your release process, under the same review and standards as your own engineers. That is what embedding means.
Q.05Who owns the IP?
You do. The customer owns the system and the IP under the engagement terms, whether it is built by an embedded FDE, a mission team or a turnkey build.
Q.06Can Senatio take over a failing project?
Yes. That is a rescue mission: concentrated ownership of a failing system. Senatio carries the work through to production. Success is measured on whether the system works, not on whether the original plan was recovered.
Q.07Can you deploy a team rather than one engineer?
Yes. A mission team concentrated on one outcome, an embedded team built around your product for the long term, or a complete engineering organization. The team is built around the work, not assembled from available inventory.
Q.08Do you support production after deployment?
Yes. Production is not the finish line. Senatio stabilizes the system once it is live, then either stays embedded, operates it, expands it, or hands over a clean working system.
Q.09Can Senatio build an engineering GCC in India?
Yes. Senatio builds and runs the whole organization: design, recruiting, assessment, training, employment, onboarding, engineering governance, operation and scale. You are not opening a hiring office; you are building an engineering organization.
Q.10Can the GCC ultimately be transferred to us?
Yes. Senatio establishes the capability, operates it through the build-out, then moves it under your direct control on the terms set in the engagement. The transfer is designed in from the start, not improvised at the end.
Q.11How does Senatio select and train engineers?
Against one standard: technically strong, product-aware, operationally aware, customer-facing, comfortable with ambiguity, accountable for production. All six are required, applied at selection and developed after it. That is what makes an engineer deployable into a problem rather than assignable to a ticket.
Q.12How quickly can you deploy?
It depends on the intervention. One embedded FDE is the fastest to place. A team is a build. An engineering organization is a programme. The date follows from understanding the problem, not from who is available.
